My Approach

My approach is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Health at Every Size, a philosophy that draws on the Principles of Intuitive Eating, Positive Psychology, Motivational Interviewing and the Body Positivity Movement. I developed my approach as a result of my psychological academic and professional experience and my own experience of recovering from an eating disorder. Thankfully, having fully recovered, I now know how to deal with negative feelings and behaviours around food and body image in a healthy way.

Changing your behaviours and freeing yourself from your eating disorder or body image issues can be stressful and scary. You might have tried to get better several times without success. However, even if it feels hopeless, it really is possible to get better! I did it myself, despite many setbacks and frequent worries that I would never overcome my eating disorder, my body hate and self-rejection. I finally succeeded and the same can be true for you.

Whatever your story is and wherever you are in your journey, you can get better and you can heal your relationship with your body and food.

You have two choices. Either you are going to remain at war with your body and food for the rest of your life; or you are going to overcome your negative feelings and behaviours. You are the only one who has the power to decide this!
